ISO14001 Preliminary Assessment
As
part of Briton's ongoing commitment to the environment,
National assessors NQA have carried out a successful preliminary
assessment to ISO14001.
The
accreditation process should be complete by May this year
and MD Bill Burton was naturally pleased with the result.
"We have worked hard over the past 10 years to minimise
this company's environmental impact and this accreditation
will validate those efforts".
Another
recent contribution to environmental protection is the
Company's switch from conventional supply of electricity
to one generated from renewable sources. Bill is convinced
that environmental issues will become a more important
part of the modern manufacturing company. "We have
successfully faced up to the challenges of solvent free
processes and EMC regulations. We now face lead free soldering,
"take back" and end of life schemes. We are
confident that we can assist our customers to comply with
forthcoming environmental legislation".
