The search for an ideal partner was carefully planned. Briton’s Business Development Manager Peter Towler was keen to find a design company which matched our needs. “I am frequently asked for design capability and we needed to find a company that would not only be comfortable with product innovation and full product design but would also be happy to get involved at PCB design level. 42T employ a team of full time professionals as well as a network of external associates with skills in a variety of disciplines. Electronics Manufacturer takes advantage of MYOptimisation service.

During this period of economic recession Briton EMS has not lost site of its goals. Many businesses have been faced with a period of uncertainty and the electronics manufacturing industry is no exception. When the pressure mounted some businesses may have cut corners to save on cost but Briton EMS remains focused on growth and improving efficiency throughout.

Briton EMS has maintained a high level of excellence by working closely with customers and suppliers. This has included working with SMT expert MYDATA and taking advantage of the MYOptimisation service that they offer. MYOptimisation makes suggestions for improvement on production facilities through an on-site audit and Briton was keen to find new ways of developing the usage of their existing MY19E pick-and-place machine.

From the information collected in the two day audit one of the recommendations was that Briton could make more effective use of the software that had been supplied with the pick-and-place machine. MyLabel works together with MyPlan to control machine kitting and material locations. Briton are now utilising the abilities of both pieces of software to speed up placement machine loading and then save time checking materials kitted on the machine.

Manufacturing Director Simon Naylor was pleased with the result, "Implementing this recommendation alone yielded substantial benefits, it has allowed us to reduce changeover times to around one-third of what they were previously. That's given a big boost to machine up time and productivity."

Briton has been able to implement various new systems to make the manufacturing process quicker and more convenient for customers. By working with MYDATA they have found an effective and efficient solution that involved no additional capital expenditure.
