16/11/05 Briton Leads the Way to Lead Free

Leading contract manufacturers Briton EMS Ltd is providing a Lead Free Services Package to all customers enabling a smoother transition over to lead free before the enforcement of the ROHS directive in July 2006.

Commercial Director Tony Abri is keen to emphasis Briton’s commitment to its customers “We have set up a dedicated resource to carefully investigate all critical components in customer products. The research results in a list of potentially obsolete or difficult to obtain components that the customer is notified of, thereby enabling advance warning of a requirement to redesign”.

Briton is well aware of the need to have a tried and tested lead free manufacturing process well before the deadline. All necessary lead free compatible equipment has been procured and installed. Several tests and pilot runs have been successfully completed. “We are ready to go and already talking to customers about conversion to lead free processing as soon as possible” says Abri.
