Hot on the heels of success in last year's Environmental Good Practice category, Contract Manufacturer Briton Electronics Ltd has succeeded in winning Company of the Year at the Bedfordshire and Luton Business Excellence Awards. This is an annual competition organised by Bedfordshire Newspapers, The Learning + Skills Council and in association with both Chamber Business and The East of England Development Agency.

The competition consisted of ten categories including Employee of the Year, Small to Medium sized Business of the Year and the most prestigious award, Company of the Year.

Managing Director Bill Burton is justifiably proud of the company's achievement. "We are delighted to be recognised as the best in this category, particularly with it being a county-wide event. Thanks to our superb staff we have had an excellent year and this award is a tribute to everyone's hard work"
The presentation ceremony was held on Thursday 28 th October, where Briton representatives were delighted to discover that they were the overall winners. Television journalist Michael Buerk and sports personality Ray Stubbs presented the awards.

Briton has also recently celebrated success in becoming the first Bedfordshire electronic assembly services company to be awarded BSI Kitemark certification for its manufacturing standards.
