07/11/06 Briton Lands Hypertag Contract
Leading contract electronics manufacturer Briton EMS has been awarded a major new contract
to produce state of the art mobile marketing technology for Hypertag Ltd.
The contract is to manufacture short-range wireless tags used on out-of-home advertising such as billboards, fitted in retail environments and worn by field marketers. Using ubiquitous mobile phone technologies such as infra-red and Bluetooth, they enable advertisers to beam interactive content to people’s mobile phones.
A user simply activates the infra-red or Bluetooth on their phone, holds it up to the Hypertag and receives content such as vouchers, business cards, ring tones or games. Hypertags have been used in major advertising campaigns across the world for brands such as Nike, Coca Cola, Ford, BMW and Unilever.
Chairman and Commercial Director Tony Abri is proud of Briton’s achievement. “We are delighted to have won this contract against serious competition. Hypertag is a truly innovative company and we look forward to developing a lasting relationship”.
Briton EMS offers a broad range of manufacturing services from printed circuit assembly through to complete product build, producing surface mount as well as conventional through - hole assembly. Lead-free production lines are in full operation enabling production of RoHS compliant products
