Briton Electronics Ltd are pleased to announce that after an audit
carried out by a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service)
registered accreditation body, they are now certified as
being compliant with the requirements of ISO14001. This
is the standard for environmental management and was first
published in 1996 by ISO, the International Standards Organization.
Quality
Manager, Joe Taylor, outlined the key proposition of ISO14001.
All business processes have environmental impacts and risks.
Those implications should be routinely managed as part of
the business, just as production, finance, human resources
and quality are managed.
ISO
14001 is a powerful management tool for doing just that
and by seeking and achieving certification to the standard,
Briton Electronics Ltd have given clear notice of their
intentions in this regard.
Managing
Director, Bill Burton is enthusiastic about this latest
accreditation which follows hot on the heals of Briton's
ISO9001:2000 certification. The local community, customers,
suppliers and all who have dealings with Briton Electronics
Ltd can be assured that the company is committed to reducing
its adverse environmental impact. We have set targets and
objectives for continuous improvement to ensure that year
on year, the overall impact is reduced.
